Looking for a speaker?
I'm available to speak at events, panels, and workshops - particularly those focused on careers, professional development, and navigating work in a way that actually fits your life.
A chemistry degree followed by eight years across tech, family business, freelance consulting, and corporate roles has given me a lot of material to work with!
Topics I speak on
Winding career paths. I’ve tended to follow what excites me and what I feel I’m good at (or could grow into). It’s meant some twists and turns, as I’ve changed and developed over the course of my twenties, and this has given me a hell of a lot of skills and condfidence I never thought I’d have - and nothing resembling a career ladder!
Exploring your identity (and unravelling it from work). I took a year to certify as a Positive Psychology Coach, working on myself, and thinking I’d be setting up a business as a coach. What I realised is that I was tying-up all my identity in self employment and making myself miserable - so it forced a U-turn I never saw coming!
The pros and cons of a side hustle. I was side-hustling and then self employed for four years 2021-2025. There’s some of it I miss, especially the early days. But there’s a lot I think the ‘entrepreneur brand’ has to answer for - especially for young women and the adjacent industries like business coaching - because it’s no walk in the park.
The translator in the room. I’ve always been the person who sits with the technical people long enough to actually understand them, then explains it to everyone else. This talk names that skill, explores why it's so undervalued, and makes the case for why it might be the most important capability in any organisation right now.
Experience
I've been speaking in front of rooms (physical and virtual) since the start of my freelancing days in 2021, when I ran regular talks at networking events for audiences of around 50 people. Those sessions covered practical marketing topics: how SEO actually works, building an email funnel, understanding the customer journey. The goal was always to make something that felt complicated feel suddenly obvious. I got at least one new client from almost every talk I gave, which told me the format was working!
I've also delivered webinars on content strategy and values-based marketing, and in my corporate roles I've presented data, strategy, and recommendations to leadership teams and run structured training programmes (most recently designing and delivering Copilot skills training for my organisation as part of a wider AI adoption project).
Overall, I'm good at taking something people didn't know they needed to understand, and making the moment they understand it feel inevitable.
